Arctic conditions are here to stay for the rest of the week

Awful weather conditions are playing havoc with transport routes across the country with below freezing temperatures forecast for the rest of the week.  There were delays at Manchester, Aberdeen and Glasgow Airports, and there have been severe delays and cancelled trains across the network in the north of England. Snow has also caused a series of traffic accidents, and many roads have been shut.
