According to research conducted on behalf of the Institute ofInsurance Brokers, 84% of consumers favour regulation of all insurance
advisers under statute. Only 21% of consumers think insurance is easy to
understand, with 79% finding it difficult. 99% of those surveyed thought
that anyone who gives insurance advice should be qualified.
