The feature entitled Medical indemnity - a healthy prospect (Professional Broking, October 2004), contained comments about medical defence bodies.

PB would like to point out that, with regard to the Medical Protection Society, these comments were misleading and incorrect. The MPS is fully funded to meet all known claims and is the largest medical indemnifier in the world, with a growing membership of over 220,000 healthcare professionals. PB hopes the impression given in the article did not cause
