Norwich Union has announced plans to move 950 more jobs to Asia in 2005, but claims the move will not impact brokers.

Around 760 back-office administration roles servicing the life and pensions and general insurance business will be based in India, with 190 finance support roles moving to Sri Lanka. The move will add to NU's 3700 employees in Asia and, by 2007, it has plans for 7000 offshore jobs.

It expects to make 150 compulsory redundancies in 2005. A number of employees will also be redeployed
