The Helphire Group reported a 131% increase in pre-tax profits to £3m (2003: £1.3m) in its interim results for the half-year ended 30 September 2004. Michael Symons, chairman of Helphire, said: "Our core business continues to grow and, during the period, completed the acquisition of Albany, which has been under consideration for some time. This acquisition has expanded our operations both geographically and strategically and we expect considerable benefits."
