Commercial underwriting agency Primary Broker Services and Primary Group subsidiary Vega have completed one acquisition each, representing a collective premium income boost of £18m for the group.

The purchase of Birmingham-based Jobson James & Associates by Vega is its fourth and largest since it was set up in 2003 and, with a gross written premium of £16m, takes the Vega group of companies' GWP to £40m. The senior team, which also comprises the major stakeholders, plus 40 staff will remain.
