Hiscox says it has "listened to shareholders" over remuneration rebellion

AGM saw 42% of vote go against provider's remuneration policy.

Hiscox’s 2014 AGM saw 42% of shareholders vote against its remuneration policy.

While the resolution passed, along with all others, 105.5m votes were cast against the policy.

As Hiscox is a Bermuda incorporated company it is not subject to new UK disclosure regulations around remuneration, however this year it published its remuneration policy alongside the 2013 report and accounts.

The company's remuneration committee stated that it may need to “vary the approach” set out in the policy
