For managing director of general insurance John O’Roarke and managing director of LV Broker Phil Bunker, the roads to their present positions have been unusual, but they have never forgotten the importance of people to the insurer. Siân Barton reports

We’re “aiming for a billion” in terms of broker book size, the ambitious pair currently at the helm of LV’s general insurance business declare.

“I think we are at £300m now and I would like it to get to £500m, as well as personal lines hitting £500m,” Phil Bunker, managing director of LV Broker, reveals. “It won’t hit that for at least five years though because we want the growth to be organic.”
