George Osborne’s last Budget before the upcoming general election contained very little for the “engine room” of the economy, writes Paul Upton

Last week’s Budget marked the last of the current parliament and chancellor George Osborne’s prime opportunity to push home any positives flowing from the government’s economic policy ahead of the 7 May general election. Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
