The new age discrimination laws seem to be getting everyone in a pickle - brokers and insurance magazines included. Not only did Insurance Age have to check that they weren't breaking the law with the Young Broker of the Year category at the UK Broker Awards but it seems that one broker is protecting its back too. It appears that Dorset-based brokerage Alan & Thomas has banned workers from circulating birthday cards. Managing director Julian Boughton was quoted in free paper the Metro as saying
