Markerstudy confirms job cuts in IT department

Restructure likely to lead to 45 redundancies.

Markerstudy has confirmed that it is likely to make 45 people redundant following a restructure in its IT department.

According to the insurer 26 people have already left the company, while an additional 19 roles are currently at risk.

Dan Fiehn, group IT director, said: "Some roles are currently at risk, which is likely to result in 19 redundancies.

"Twenty-six staff did unfortunately leave but had settlement agreements, so the total number of employees impacted is 45."

ABI records 3% home premiums rise in Q1

Average home insurance premiums for buildings and contents cover rose by 3% to £375 in the first quarter of this year, pushing the year-on-year rise up to 19%, according to the Association of British Insurers.
