IFED to target ghost brokers in Scotland

IFED will visit addresses targeted by fraudsters to get cheap motor insurance.

Specialist insurance detectives will launch a crackdown this week on unscrupulous ghost brokers who use unsuspecting Scottish residents to get fraudulent car insurance deals. 

The Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department (IFED) said it will be sending detectives to parts of Scotland where addresses are being targeted with seemingly cheap deals on their car insurance.

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
