Biba and the government welcome fraud recommendations

Insurance Fraud Taskforce has made suggestions on how to tackle fraud in the insurance sector.

The British Insurance Brokers' Association (Biba) and the Government have welcomed the Insurance Fraud Taskforce's (IFT) recommendations on tackling fraudulent activity ranging from organised to opportunistic crime.

Biba pointed out that insurance fraud affects every honest insurance customer by adding £50 to the annual bill for every UK policyholder.

The IFT's suggestions include the government reviewing ways in which fraudulent late claims can be discouraged through changes to court costs and
