Guidewire Connections: Competition in digital arena “merciless”

Guidewire CEO says legacy systems still cause problems for insurers as competition grows and customers become more digitally demanding.

Competition in the insurance sector is becoming "merciless" due to digital changes, demanding customers and new entrant s to the market according to Guidewire CEO Marcus Ryu.

Ryu also pointed out that the insurance market is still dealing with many legacy issues on top of the new challenges.

Speaking at the Guidewire Connections conference in San Francisco, Ryu said: "Fourteen years ago when Guidewire was founded legacy issues caused problems. Today, I think, that is only part of the story
