IBSC launches consultation on under insurance

Discussion paper aims to establish what a broker's duties to a client should be.

The Insurance Brokers' Standards Council (IBSC) has launched a consultation paper for its members addressing what a broker's duties should be in relation to the issue of inadequate and under insurance.

The body said there has been much debate and publicity around the issue and the corollary to that is a greater incidence of such cases and not only those where a loss occurs.

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
