Lloyd’s considering departure from iconic building

Reports suggest insurance market could move to new building on Leadenhall Street.

Lloyd's is in talks to leave its famous home and move to a new skyscraper in the Square Mile of London, according to a report in The Sunday Times.

The article suggested that Lloyd's has started discussions on moving with more than one developer but that its preferred option was to move to a new location dubbed "Gotham City".

The new building has received planning permission and is set to be built by 2020.

The article also noted that Lloyd's could yet renegotiate to stay in the current location

ABI records 3% home premiums rise in Q1

Average home insurance premiums for buildings and contents cover rose by 3% to £375 in the first quarter of this year, pushing the year-on-year rise up to 19%, according to the Association of British Insurers.
