AA figures show home insurance premiums continue to fall

Premiums still tumbling despite recent flooding.

Home insurance premiums continued to fall in 2013, despite floods in December, according to the AA British Insurance Premium Index.

The price of buildings, contents and combined home policies all fell in the last quarter of 2013, and have all either remained static or fallen every quarter for the past two years.

Indeed, the figures revealed that the market average quote for a home contents policy is at a ten-year low, at £65.

This is a 2% reduction on the previous quarter, and a 6.6% reduction
