Keelan Westall launches underwriter training system

Keelan Westall has introduced a new training system for underwriters as part of a push to triple the broker's income over the next two years.

The wholesale broker - which was bought by Arthur J Gallagher in May - said the Annual Proficiency Test was designed to boost the service given to customers. 

Keelan Westall managing director Wayne Tonge said: "We are keen to invest in our staff and to ensure that they are technically competent in underwriting.

"The online system that we are now using asks competency-based questions, which will test our underwriters in accordance with their current technical level and in line with their in-house
