The fact that Cowens Survival Capability has chartered status influenced Greenray Turbines’ decision to work with the broker, according to client Anita Paulie.

Ms Paulie, commercial and export manager at the Lincoln-based company, told Insurance Age: "You have almost got a guarantee that you will get the professionalism. It gives you the added confidence in the standard of their capabilities."

She added: "Chartered to me is quite an attractive status to have."

The firm, which supplies spare parts for gas turbines and is a partner with Siemens to service their mature engines, has worked with Cowens for approaching three years.
