Brit founder joins Gallaghers

Neil Eckert, founder and former chief executive officer of Brit Insurance, has joined Arthur J. Gallagher International.

The broker confirmed that with immediate effect Mr Eckert had been appointed as a non-executive director.

Mr Eckert commented: "The nature of risk is changing apace - but the world is increasingly under-insured.

"After 30 years in and around the insurance business, I wanted the challenge of working with a broker that understands these developments - and one that is prepared to invest across distribution channels and in product design and technology, in order to better advise demanding clients

Emily Shepperd, chief operating officer of the Financial Conduct Authority, has said the regulator was “overwhelmed” at the response and amount of feedback to its transparency proposals, and that it is going to “really take our time” when considering any possible next steps.
