News: Cash plans set to outdo PMI following broker sales boom

The cash plan market could overtake private medical insurance (PMI) in the corporate sector after providers reported significant growth in intermediated sales.

Cash plan specialist Westfield Health said its broker sales rose by 43% last year while National Friendly saw an increase of 200% during the same period.

Chief executive at Westfield Health, Jill Davies, said: "We are now seeing decision makers considering the benefits of health cash plans over PMI or looking at how the two can work together to deliver better value and more relevant healthcare for their employees.
