Cunningham Lindsey appoints fraud manager in its liability services division following concerns that fraudsters are focusing on employers' liability (EL) public liability (PL) claims.

Sharon Hurst, who joins Cunningham Lindsey from Zurich, has more than 20 years’ experience in claims handling and has specialised in fraud for the past five years.

Ms Hurst will work to enhance the fraud strategy of the liability services division, overseeing a review of its fraud identification processes.

Ms Hurst will report to Allan Scobie, operational development manager in liability services, and work closely with Cunningham Lindsey’s investigation services operation.

Cunningham Lindsey said Ms Hurst "will liaise with senior members of the investigation services team to hone Cunningham Lindsey’s liability claims fraud offering, reflecting the company’s ambition to continually improve efforts to detect fraud in EL and PL claims".

Ms Hurst said: “Fraud is a growing issue in liability claims. Working with our investigation services team, we will further reinforce Cunningham Lindsey’s reputation as a specialist liability practice by helping protect our clients against this area of fraud exposure.”
