Link and Zenith to merge

GHL Europe, the holding company for the European businesses of Guardian Holdings, has announced that it will bring together its two insurance companies to create a single Gibraltar based insurer underwriting a single suite of products.

Subject to approval from the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (FSC), the insurance business of Link Insurance will be transferred to Zenith Insurance at the end of 2007.

ABI records 3% home premiums rise in Q1

Average home insurance premiums for buildings and contents cover rose by 3% to £375 in the first quarter of this year, pushing the year-on-year rise up to 19%, according to the Association of British Insurers.
