Aon acquires classic car broker

Aon has announced an agreement to acquire specialist vehicle insurance broker, Firebond. The terms of the transaction are not disclosed.

Firebond, established in 1993, is an insurance broking service specialising in classic cars. It enjoys a special relationship with classic car enthusiasts and is know for its exceptional service offering.

The acquisition of Firebond, with operations in Cambridge and Bingley, will consolidate Aon's role within the classic car broking sector.

ABI records 3% home premiums rise in Q1

Average home insurance premiums for buildings and contents cover rose by 3% to £375 in the first quarter of this year, pushing the year-on-year rise up to 19%, according to the Association of British Insurers.
