The majority of medium-haul flights to be cancelled in Portugal tomorrow
Ryanair has been forced to cancel flights to Portugal tomorrow as a result of air traffic controllers going on strike in Portugal tomorrow after calls for a general strike by the country's largest unions. National carrier TAM will cancel the majority of its medium haul flights whilst British Airways has cancelled flights tomorrow. Longer haul flights will continue.
The strike comes as Portugal becomes the centre of attention in the eurozone debt crisis after Ireland is set to be bailed out. Portugal's budget deficit has widened over last year and its cost of borrowing continues to rise amid fears it may also require a bailout.
