Product update: Sunworld travel disruption

A new product designed to protect travellers against the insolvency of travel agents and tour operators and the disruption caused by increasingly severe weather events, has been launched.

Sunworld has launched a product called Travel Disruption Cover, which applies to trips booked both independently and through travel agents and tour operators.

The new offering covers flight cancellations, cancellation of trips on the instruction of Foreign Office and the World Health Organisation advice, travel agents going out of business, natural disasters such as tsunamis, volcanoes or hurricanes, compensation for cancelled or delayed flights and additional accommodation costs if a return

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
