I have to take issue with Peter Powell, managing director of Complectus on the subject of misfuelling.

Mr Powell states that misfuelling is not covered by motor policies, hence the introduction of the new Complectus product.

Accidentally putting the wrong fuel into a vehicle is 'damage' and consequently is covered by the standard comprehensive policy. This would include both the cleaning of the fuel system and putting right any resultant engine damage.

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
