This years' British Insurance Brokers' Conference (Biba) was all about professionalism but I have to report that there wasn't much on show as far as I could see.

This is not to cast aspersions upon Biba - they put on a cracking event and proved wrong all those who said that London's Excel was not the right venue and that the new two-day format wouldn't work.

This is about brokers - individual and collective. The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has also been making huge efforts to get brokers to behave more professionally with initiatives such as its Aldermanbury Declaration, but from what I could see, both Biba and the CII have their work cut out to
