5. Clear buys MPW Insurance Brokers
Clear Insurance Management has bought Kent-based MPW Insurance Brokers for an undisclosed sum.
The deal is Clear's biggest ever purchase and the 21st since the broker was formed in 2001.
4. Three arrested in ghost broker raids
Two men and a woman were arrested on 21 February 2017 as part of a joint investigation between the City of London Police Major Crime Team and the Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB).
