CBI/PwC: Brokers downbeat due to Brexit and lower interest rates
Sector challenges grown due to uncertainty of Brexit and low interest rates, technological changes and competition.
Optimism and profitability declined for insurance brokers in the three months to September as overall growth in business volumes slowed compared to the previous quarter, according to a poll.
The latest CBI and PricewaterhouseCoopers Financial Services Survey found that 27 percent fewer brokers were optimistic about the sector than were pessimistic.
This marked a reversal from the previous quarter when the overall sentiment was 12 percent optimistic.
