Biba calls for removal of IPT on telematics products
The increase in the tax has made the hike in car insurance more noticeable according to the trade body.
The British Insurance Brokers' Association (Biba) has called for telematics products to be exempt from Insurance Premium Tax (IPT).
In the latest, Insurance Price Index from the Biba and Acturis, which tracks £5bn of actual premiums paid yearly through insurance brokers, highlighted a significant rise in the level of premiums charged for private car policies.
