FCA to consult on introducing PPI complaint deadline

Trade body says it will also consult on funding a consumer communications campaign.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has confirmed that it will open a consultation on the introduction of a deadline for consumers to make their payment protection insurance (PPI) complaints.

The consultation is due to open before the end of the year.

It will tackle the time that consumers have to complain about PPI or lose their their right to make them assessed by firms or by the Financial Ombudsman Service.

In May the FCA raised the possibility of this consultation following on
