Insurers dismiss ‘Toba turmoil’ worries

Insurers say they are “comfortable” with Toba changes but they are not all working to the same deadlines for Insurance Act changes.

Insurers have insisted that they are prepared and ready for the Insurance Act and the changes it requires for Terms of Business Arrangements (Tobas).

QBE said it was "comfortable" with the deadline of 31 December 2015 which it set itself while Axa insisted it was "well-prepared" and "working to the date that the changes come into effect which is 12th August 2016".

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
