Zurich RSA takeover hailed “good fit”

Deal not expected to have negative impact on broker market in the UK as Axa, Allianz and AIG named as other potential bidders.

Analysts have said a deal which could see Zurich takeover RSA would be a "good fit" for the two insurers.

Berenburg analyst, Sami Taipalus, said: "I do think it is a good fit for Zurich.

"There is clearly synergy in the UK particularly on commercial lines. It is also a nice way for Zurich to enter the Scandinavian market."

While Barry Cornes, an analyst at Panmure Gordon commented that the deal would be positive for RSA shareholders.

Applied updates on commercial push
