Anscombe targets buying specialist brokers following funding deal

Seventeen Group to expand in specialist lines after securing finance arrangements with Clydesdale Bank.

Seventeen Group, including broker James Hallam, plans to acquire more small independent specialist brokers after making a long-term deal to refinance its debts with Clydesdale Bank.

Paul Anscombe, managing director of Seventeen Group, told Insurance Age that the business is currently in discussion with one or two brokers.

"We are seeking to build on our specialist lines on the broking side of the business and we think this is a great opportunity to buy good quality independent brokers," he said
