Could the broker be split into bits?

Brokers have told Insurance Age they would not be surprised if Towergate were to be broken up following the news it has appointed Evermore and Rothschilds to advise on any potential sale.

Looking at the broking arm of the business brokers thought that Marsh, Aon, Willis and Gallagher all could be in the frame.

Marsh has been tipped to take the reins at the beleaguered broker and some believe selling off the business in chunks is the most realistic option.

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
