Coach ‘crash for cash’ fraudsters jailed

Jail sentences follow £150,000 personal injury insurance con.

Three people from Liverpool who deliberately caused a crash between a coach and a car on a Manchester motorway in a bid to fraudulently claim £150,000 for personal injuries have been jailed.

Liam Gray was sentenced to 14 months in prison, while his friends Ben Carberry and Kevin Hamilton were handed 11 and four month prison sentences respectively at Southwark Crown Court.

Sentencing comes after Service Underwriting referred suspicions about whiplash claims from 30 people who had been travelling
