Mixed response to CMA report

Allianz “disappointed” by motor findings but AA “welcomes” the report into competition as ABI calls it “bad news for consumers”.

The insurance sector has responded to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) report into competition in the motor sector with mixed feelings following its publication.

Allianz was first to express its disappointment at the report, which called on the Financial Conduct Authority to further investigate add-ons, recommends a ban on agreements between price comparison websites and insurers which stop insurers from making their products available more cheaply on other online platforms, and calls
