Covéa will not meet commercial lines target, says Cooter

'Tough' market conditions has pushed deadline back.

Covéa Insurance will not meet its three year deadline of doubling its commercial book, Insurance Age can reveal.

Simon Cooter, commercial lines director at the provider, stated in April 2013 that Covéa was planning to double its £85m commercial business over the next three years.

Cooter told Insurance Age: “When we first set that goal, and it was a very high level goal, we thought it would happen over a three year period. We’re not going to get there that quickly.”

He added that since he joined
