Average car insurance price difference between sexes just £27

The average car insurance price difference between men and women is now only £27.

It came as the Confused.com/Towers Watson car insurance price index for Q2 2013 revealed that year-on-year comprehensive car insurance premiums plummeted 30.7% for males aged 17-20 - the largest drop ever recorded for this group.

They now pay on average £2,493 for their comprehensive insurance, some £1,103 down on last year's average of £3,596.

It came as females aged 17-20 endured a year-on-year increase of 6.2%, paying an average of £1,995, compared with £1,878 this time last year following
