Arista makes fleet underwriting appointments

Arista Insurance has made two new appointments to its fleet team in Birmingham.

Paul Smith has been appointed senior fleet underwriter and Amanda Jones has taken up the position of fleet underwriter.

Mr Smith will be responsible for handling all aspects of Arista's fleet account in the Midlands.

He has joined from Chartis where he was a fleet development underwriter with responsibility for existing business and large case management. He has also had stints at Allianz, NIG and RSA.

Ms Jones will be responsible for new business, renewals and mid-term adjustments.

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
