Personal injury lawyer welcomes referral fee ban
A personal injury solicitor has broken ranks with his peers to welcome Government moves to ban referral fees in insurance cases.
Mr Attwood, principal solicitor at Attwood Solicitors, stated the fees encouraged "spurious claims" which ultimately drove up the cost of premiums.
According to reports, Mr Attwood said: "Banning referral fees will encourage people to find their own solicitor without the help of claims management companies.
"Referral fees can lead to people being encouraged to put in spurious claims. Banning them should mean less claims are made which should ultimately lead to smaller premiums for everyone."
