Towergate loses Blanc to Axa commercial lines

Axa has appointed Amanda Blanc as chief executive of its commercial lines business, which includes broker Bluefin.

According to the insurer, Ms Blanc will be responsible for delivering a strategy to transform its service to brokers and develop synergies with Bluefin. In her new role she will become a member of the Axa UK executive committee and a board member.

Paul Evans, group CEO of Axa, said: “We look forward to the dynamism Amanda will bring to the development of our commercial lines business.”

Although Ms Blanc has retained a single digit shareholding in Towergate the insurer said it was confident

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
