Aviva has launched two bespoke policies for those working specifically in metals or machinery and equipment.

The launch followed a period of consultation with specialist brokers and customers to identify the particular requirements in these sectors.

Aviva said this meant that customers from aerial to wire manufacturers, agricultural engineers to makers of power tools will benefit from the new policies, which provide enhanced cover as standard and at no extra cost.

Alex Royce, development manager at Aviva, said: "Both the metals and machinery and equipment markets tend to evolve rapidly as a result of constantly advancing technology and processes so we reviewed our policies to make sure they were providing the right level of cover for these very specific sectors.

"Following feedback from brokers and customers our specialist underwriting team has created policies that are extremely flexible to cover a wide range of trades. We are also offering product recall insurance with limits up to £250,000, providing a fully rounded range of cover for industrial risks."
