Ink Underwriting Agencies and St Giles Legal and Professional Risks have joined forces to create a new professional indemnity (PI) insurance facility for solicitor firms with between one and 25 partners.

Clients will have access to a risk management service, including risk reviews, specialist Lexcel level reviews, and an in house claims handling service.

Mike Smith (pictured), MD of Ink, commented: “We are delighted to have collaborated with St Giles, and to have been able to create a timely solution for solicitors who we know are finding this year’s insurance renewal season very challenging. Both we and St Giles have significant knowledge and expertise in this marketplace, and a good understanding of the issues.”

Malcolm Gordon, MD of St Giles Legal and Professional Risks and a solicitor himself, said: “We have produced with Ink a creative facility, backed by solid re-insurance. We will run this with a team that includes people who themselves were once solicitors in private practice. A pro-active claims service is a key part of our offering.”

The policy is issued by Alpha Insurance A/S, a Danish Insurance company based in Copenhagen. Cover will be underwritten by re- insurer Greenlight Re, a specialist casualty re-insurance company.

Facilities are being released to supporting Ink and Westinsure brokers who will receive details of how to obtain a quote over the next week.

DO QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS REDUCE RISK?

Risk reviews for PII Brokers

We help PII brokers to find out if their clients' quality management systems reduce risk. In our experience many don't, and certification to ISO 9001 is not a reliable indicator. We can help your clients to reduce bureaucracy and make controls more effective.
