Schemes news: JLT gives leg up onto property ladder

Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) has announced the launch of a "groundbreaking" new scheme designed to increase mortgage lending to first-time buyers of Bovis Homes properties.

Steve Rance, partner at JLT lending risk solutions, said that builders were suffering as mortgage lending had been significantly cut, meaning that people with small deposits were unable to get on the property ladder.

Broking profits fall at Saga

Underlying profit before tax in Saga’s insurance broking arm fell to £39.8m for the year ended 31 January 2024, compared with £71.5m in the previous period.
