Insurers paid out £650m in dealing with 335,000 claims from customers suffering damage to their homes, businesses and vehicles following the coldest winter in 30 years, according to the Association of British Insurers (ABI). Following the conditions in December 2009 and January this year, insurers paid out £395m to insured motorists, with many of the 268,400 claims resulting from accidental damage. A further £255m was paid to homeowners and business customers for property damage, with the ABI
