Tony Hutchins: "Modern construction methods are a concern"

Experts have voiced concern about modern methods of construction

Industry experts have called for those involved in the modern method construction (MMC) industry to take more responsibility for the rise in fire claims.

The latest figures on large fire losses, released this year by the Risc Authority in conjunction with the Fire Protection Association (FPA), revealed that there had been a 1% year-on-year increase in financial terms, with the average loss due to fire sitting at £498,000. Of these buildings, 62% were constructed using modern methods.
