Tony Cornell sees new players stealing consolidator thunder

Broker acquisition has dropped off dramatically in the past year but the number of new entrants is on the rise, according to research conducted for Insurance Age's Top 100 Independent Brokers 2009 supplement.

Only two brokers featured in last year's supplement have been acquired over the past year - Simon Brooke and Partners by Giles and Equity Insurance Brokers by Swinton.
