Winning two awards, including Intermediary of the year
MCE Insurance Brokers walked away with two awards at this year's UK Broker Awards.
Held on Friday 11 at Troxy in the east end of London, the event, hosted by comedian Sean Lock, was attended by well over 400 of the great and good from the broking community.
The bike insurance specialist bagged Marketing Campaign of the Year as well as the coveted title of Intermediary of the Year. Its in-house strategies, including the creation of "Big Ed" as the public face of the company, which lead to it experiencing a 23% policy growth in the last year, won the judges over.
Other highlights included Temporary Cover's Alan Inskip winning young broker of the year in his last year of eligibility. The achievement award went to industry veteran Alec Finch who cut his holiday short in order to personally receive his prize.
The quality of the entrants across the board was testament to the resilience the industry has shown in the face of the challenging circumstances of the past year.
After the ceremony, guests revelled in their success at the after party, mingling with 1930s flapper girls who authentically complemented the 1930s art deco Grade II listed venue.
Brokers took advantage of the opportunity to congratulate each other, meet old friends and forge new contacts at the casino after party. The 2010 event, if possible, should have even more exciting potential.

We help PII brokers to find out if their clients' quality management systems reduce risk. In our experience many don't, and certification to ISO 9001 is not a reliable indicator. We can help your clients to reduce bureaucracy and make controls more effective.
